Board goes lives with IEG4’s All Age Continuing Care (AACC) digital platform in bid to improve operational efficiency and patient care.
The Cheshire-based tech company IEG4, part of the wider IEG Group, has announced that Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board (ICB) has now gone live with the company’s continuing healthcare (CHC) solution as part of an ongoing digital transformation to modernise and streamline CHC processes across the region.
Some 6,200 cases are now live within the system, including CHC, funded nursing care (FNC), children and young people (CYP), adult cases, section 117 (S117) and fast track cases.
The new IEG4 platform will enhance the management of NHS-funded care packages by driving efficiencies through streamlined processes such as referrals, assessments, approvals, contracting, payments, and case management. The move to a fully digital CHC solution will help to improve visibility, efficiency, governance and financial control across CHC services. That will in turn benefit staff, patients and other service users.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICB conducted a procurement process for a five-year contract, with an eye on similar initiatives in the wider region. That included NHS Somerset ICB’s selection of the IEG4 digital CHC platform in August 2024.
In the case of Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICB, the parties signed a contract last December and having been collaborating since then on deployment. The solution is going live over a series of phases between March and July. Implementation has been planned so as to minimise disruption while maximising early value.
Shelley Lewis, Deputy Director AAAC, Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICB, says: ‘We are grateful to colleagues at IEG4 for their support with implementing the new platform. This software is critical in supporting our All Age Continuing Care teams’ transformation agenda, as we look to further improve and innovate the way we work.’
Stephen Ferry, CEO of IEG Group, adds: ‘We are delighted to welcome Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICB into our digital CHC community and to support them in addressing their current challenges with our intuitive end-to-end platform.
In light of the recent government announcement in which ICBs need to reduce costs by 50%, now is the time to modernise Continuing Healthcare in order to deliver efficiencies, lower costs and free up workforce capacity. At IEG4, we are dedicated to supporting ICBs through this challenging landscape and ensuring that they deliver a streamlined service that responds to those challenges and stakeholder expectations.’
