Refreshed site now boasts interactive development map, case studies of successfully completed projects and director of investment opportunities.
Bolton Council has launched the new look of investinbolton.com as a showcase for the ongoing regeneration of the town and to promote it to national and international investors.
The launch coincides with the latest phase of the regeneration programme, with work under way at the Church Wharf development, where locally based developers Watson Homes will construct 400 new homes and a hotel as part of the strategic town centre gateway.
Meanwhile, demolition work on Crompton Place is due to begin later this summer, with demolition specialists Rhodar projected to spend £1m with local contractors and suppliers. The site will then seen construction of a £250m mix-used development undertaken by Federated Hermes MEPC.
Projects such as this are expected to unlock further investment at sites across the borough – and the new-look Invest in Bolton website profiles the potential developments.
For example, Bolton town centre is a catalyst project within the wider NorthFold strategic location – a major corridor for growth that stretches from Bolton to Wigan. The council says this has the potential to deliver 9,000 new homes, £356m in GVA and the long-awaited M6 to M61 link road.
What’s more, NorthFold includes Harworth’s 1m square feet commercial development at Hexagon Park, estimated to provide some 6,000 new jobs.
The new Invest in Bolton site also details the council’s ongoing commitment to supporting investment and regeneration through robust polices, such as Bolton’s new place brand, its visitor economy strategy, cultural strategy and economic growth and resilience plan.
Jon Dyson, Director of Place at Bolton Council, says: ‘The new Invest in Bolton website is our shop window to the world, showing investors why our borough is the ideal place for their next major project. Developments like Wellsprings, Moor Lane and Logistics North show what we can do, while Crompton Place, Church Wharf and Hexagon Park mark an exciting new chapter in our regeneration story.
‘We also know that we need to create an environment where investors and businesses can thrive and we’re doing that though a whole suite of policies to boost our tourism, build on our strengths and promote growth.’
