Leading insurance company L&G partners with Spectrum.Life on new health and well-being platform Spark, delivering GP and nurse services to its members
L&G has partnered with Spectrum.Life to create Spark, a new health and well-being platform that had been designed to address one of the most persistent challenges in Insurance: the multiple pathways, apps and access points to well-being services.
Employees can now access all essential services from a single site, connecting them directly with GPs, advanced nurse practitioners (ANPs) and physiotherapists without delays and no silos. Accessible via phone, laptop or desktop, Spark brings together all L&G existing health and well-being services – plus some new ones – while also extending them to entire workforces and their immediate families.
The aim is to make preventative health and well-being simpler, more personalised and inclusive.
Services on Spark include 24/7 mental health support and access to a GP or ANP, counselling and therapy. Online physiotherapy, children’s and young people’s mental health assessments and support, support with long-term conditions and adult and elder care, and expert financial and legal information are also provided.
Among the new services that the Spark platform provides for employees and their immediate families are cancer awareness and nurse support, plus new long-term condition support covering both heart health and menopause.
James Walker, Head of Product & Proposition – Group Protection at L&G says: ‘I’m excited to introduce Spark to the market. It’s an incredibly slick and comprehensive one-stop-shop that uses the latest user journey guidance technology to get people to the service they need, fast and effectively. Thanks to Spark, we can now extend all our amazing prevention and early intervention support – plus some valuable new ones – to entire workforces and their immediate families.
‘This will bring positive benefits to everyone. For individuals, helping empower them to manage their own health and well-being. For employers, helping reduce absence and presenteeism while improving satisfaction. For government, helping support latest Get Britain Working goals. And for society, in terms of fair access to essential support – improving health outcomes and reducing pressure on public health services.’
Stephen Costello, CEO and Co-founder of Spectrum.Life, adds: ‘We are not just improving access to healthcare – we are rebuilding it for the way people live and work today. Partnering with L&G on the launch of Spark is very exciting for us. Through Spark we are transforming the way employees, where their employer has an L&G Group Protection policy, access mental health and primary care services and get instant access to trusted clinical support – from GPs, ANPs and physiotherapists to second medical opinions and mental health specialists – making high-quality care just a click away.
‘Together, we integrate preventative healthcare directly into protection benefits, guided by our intelligent MatchTech booking engine to ensure people reach the right support faster. Our Virtual Primary Care Platform empowers employees to take control of their health while helping employers strengthen culture, improve retention, and future-proof their benefits. As a second-generation digital health provider, our focus is on combining clinical excellence, innovation, and smart technology to change – and ultimately – save lives. This partnership represents a bold leap toward a more connected, accessible future of workplace well-being.’
