Cheshire West & Chester Council confirm first ever EV awareness event

This month will see a series of free sessions offered to individuals and businesses, helping guide them through the transition to plug-in vehicles.

Run by Cheshire West & Chester Council, Understanding How To Transition to Electric Vehicles In Business and at Home’ will be held at Ellesmere Port Civic Hall on Tuesday 21st May. 

The first two hours of the morning, from 8AM to 10AM, are dedicated to businesses, while the remainder of the day – from 10AM to 2PM – is open for anyone to attend. 

A number of keynote speakers are set to be confirmed. These include experts in salary sacrifice and tax savings schemes, grant availability, vehicle choice, eHGV, suitable charging infrastructure and energy supply. 

Around 20 exhibitors will also be in attendance, and a number of vehicles will be on display. These include the BMW i5, BMW iX2, BYD Atto 3, BYD Seal, Ford E-Transit, Ford Mach-E, MINI Cooper, Peugeot E-2008, Peugeot E-308, Vauxhall Astra Electric, Vauxhall Mokka Electric, Volkswagen ID.7 and the Volkswagen ID. Buzz. The Tesla Model 3, Tesla Model Y, Toyota bZ4X and Toyota Proace City will also be on display.

It is hoped that increasing understandings of opportunities and initiatives associated with EVs can encourage and drive better engagement and uptake at a time when there are serious concerns around falling demand and the lack of infrastructure to support rising numbers of plug-in vehicles on UK roads
