Partnership will boost network efficiency across local offices and support HMLR’s digital ambitions.
His Majesty’s Land Registry (HMLR) is a non-ministerial government department that registers the ownership of land and property across England and Wales. It provides a reliable record of information about ownership and related interests. Owners receive a land title that is guaranteed by the government and a title plan is produced to indicate general boundaries.
To keep this information up to date, anyone buying or selling land, or taking out a mortgage, is required to apply to HMLR to register details, whether that’s of a new owner of already-registered land or property, an interest such as a mortgage, lease or right of way, or to note unregistered land or property.
This is, of course, a sizeable undertaking. Already this year, HMLR has processed more than 200,000 applications via its free expedited service – the majority within 10 working days.
To help with this work, Exponential-e, a UK-based cloud, connectivity, communications and cyber security provider, has announced a new contract with HMLR to supply internet connectivity solutions across 12 of its local offices. As part of this agreement, Exponential-e will deliver robust, secure internet services for both business and guest access. This will include solutions for staff using GovWifi and HMLR’s business clients.
The new connectivity solution provided will boost bandwidth, enhance security and streamline corporate traffic management, supporting HMLR’s longer-term ambition to evolve its network structure to better meet the changing needs of the organisation and support its transition to a Gov Hub model, where possible.
Founded in 2002, Exponential-e provides cloud, SD-WAN networks, unified communications services, and cybersecurity prevention and remediation services, all delivered via its own high-capacity and secure business-only network. Today, more than 3,000 companies depend on such services, with 96% reference-ability.
Afshin Attari, Director of Public Sector and Unified Platforms at Exponential-e, says: ‘This project represents an important step for HM Land Registry’s network infrastructure. By delivering a secure and scalable solution, we’re enabling HMLR to respond to the evolving needs of its staff, clients, and guests, while ensuring seamless access to the services they rely on.’
