Pilot Group and Reznor EMS saves businesses 43% on energy bills 

New NOVA energy management system offers cost-effective heating controlled via smart technology, and can save an average 43% of energy bills 

Over the past few years, energy bills have been subject to sudden, sharp rises, which is a nasty shock in the short term and makes long-term planning more difficult. If a business has sizeable premises, it’s especially difficult to weather these rising costs – and any solution will be welcome news.

Manchester-based sustainable technology experts Pilot Group has teamed up with heating equipment manufacturer Reznor – whose European HQ is in the West Midlands – to develop the new NOVA EMS, which is being supplied for exclusive use alongside Reznor’s heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) equipment. The idea is to combine the technically advanced unit and radiant heater rangers with Pilot Group’s intelligent system for monitoring, controlling and improving the performances of a building’s energy outputs.  

The NOVA EMS solution is ideal for industry buildings, out-of-town retail spaces, warehouses and factories. It offers such companies an all-in-one heating system and the tools to ensure operations run as efficiently as possible.

Reznor’s RHeco unit heaters are already proven to increase thermal efficiency of a business’ operations by up to 109%, while its Photon heaters deliver extended operational life with 4-pass heat exchanger tech. The company’s Vision radiant heater is up to 15% more effective than standard radiant tube heaters and delivers increased thermal efficiencies of up to 90%.  

NOVA EMS can be retrofitted on heaters already in use but businesses will see greater long-term savings and have access to real-time energy data by including it at the heater installation stage, with the tech enabling them to optimise operations.  

Sensors in different zones within a building feed data to the central control panel which is then communicated to the building’s heaters so they change actions appropriately. Data is also backed up to the cloud and users can assess this and implement strategies to reduce energy outputs further – such as by reducing them during off-peak times. These changes can be made easily via the control panel or remotely from a smartphone or laptop.
